Kuretake Wood Glass Pen - Senbonzakura

A wooden shaft made from natural cherry wood from Mt. Yoshino and a glass pen nib crafted by hand by artisans.
This is a Kuretake 120th anniversary commemorative item, carefully crafted one by one.
The glass pen is said to have been developed in 1902 by a Japanese wind chimes artisan.
At the same time, Kuretake was also founded in 1902. It has become a writing instrument befitting its 120th anniversary.

The wood used for the shaft is natural Yoshino cherry wood from Nara Prefecture, where Kuretake's head office is located and which is a World Heritage site.
It was acquired from Yoshino cherry trees that fell during a typhoon in 2018.
The glass pen nibs are made by glass artist Yoshitaka Tajima (Studio Kasho).
