Tomoe River for notebooks is a thin and light notebook paper, and it is loved by many people.
However, in 2019, Tomoegawa Paper Co., Ltd. shut down the No. 7 paper machine at its Shizuoka plant, which had been producing Tomoe River, and has since continued production by switching to the No. 9 paper machine. In February 2021, it was announced that the No. 9 machine would be shut down at the end of September of the same year.
How Tomoe River will be produced after October 2021 is undecided. (As of May 2021)
