Sailor Pen WAJIMA BIJOU Fountain Pen Coral
This is a lacquer-ware fountain pen that embodies traditional craftsmanship, where the recesses (grooves) of the body are filled using Wajima-nuri and maki-e techniques, and then coated and polished repeatedly to achieve a smooth, glossy finish.
The border, cap, and tail cap of the body are finished using colored lacquer, mother-of-pearl inlay, and pure gold powder maki-e.
Each of these fountain pens is meticulously lacquered and decorated with maki-e by Wajima-nuri maki-e artisan Takuya Hino, making every single pen worthy of being called a "Bijou."
The original design applied to the cap ring includes a serial number, and it is equipped with Sailor Pen's unique large 21K nib.
Coral - Gemstone meaning: happiness, healing, power-up
In medieval Europe, it was believed to be a stone of "happiness" that repelled evil spirits and guarded the beginning and end of events.
Furthermore, as a jewel born from the sea, the source of life, coral is thought to possess the power of "healing," and is said to enhance vitality and activate physical and mental energy.
